I am one of Jerry's students also anxiously awaiting the Master's Level Course. I have been monitoring BEE-L for the past 5 months and deeply appreciate the dialog.
On another thread, I am working to open a training farm for veterans and transitioning soldiers wishing to move into agriculture as an occupation. Kansas State University (KSU) is designing the farm and we have support from the Departments of Agriculture, Defense and Labor. I am a retired Army Colonel, Viet Nam vet. I taught for KSU for some years and now teach wounded warriors from Fort Riley, Kansas, Strategic Planning, Business Planning and Beekeeping. A number of them have decided to move into commercial beekeeping as a career. Are any of you aware of research that develops the therapeutic value of beekeeping? It has been used as therapy after World Wars I and II but I can find no research underpinning the value of beekeeping as a therapeutic approach for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or Brain Injury. Thank you.
