The Abandoned Mine Land Program is currently advertising an Environmental Specialist-Advanced (pay band 75) positon to help manage the Program’s project and Section 106 responsibilities. This position will provide duties necessary to meet the Abandoned Mine Land (AML) Program's legislative mandate to protect public health and safety from the physical and environmental hazards of abandoned mines. The person in this position will manage professional services contracts and other Agreements, review AML plans and specifications for cultural resource compliance following federal, state, tribal and local laws and regulations, coordinate State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO), Agency, and Tribal consultations, prepare reports, and monitor AML safeguarding and reclamation activities.
