I spent one of the most pleasant evenings of my life talking about
archaeology and life in general with Paul and my wife one evening at the
hotel when the SHAs were in Mobile. We did major damage to a large bottle
of fine bourbon that evening. We had been reading each other’s posts for
years and it was a genuine pleasure to finally get to know Paul.

My sincere condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
