Hi James et al:
I use exterior grade Douglas fir plywood for my bee boxes. Our exterior
plywood is glued with resorcinol glue and is very resistant to delamination.
I can often get scrap plywood from local businesses for about half price. I
am located in central Alberta
Construction is very simple; I cut the plywood into strips 9 1/2" wide and
then cut off two pieces 19 7/8" long and two pieces 15" long. The short
pieces have a rabbet cut into them for frame rests and are connected between
the long pieces with three 3" screws and two biscuits. The edges are glued
with common waterproof carpenters glue. I paint them with two coats of
outdoor latex paint.
A note regarding my HP-45 calculator: it is actually an HP-15. I believe I
bought it when they first came out about 1983.
Best regards
Donald Aitken
