POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The Arkansas Archeological Survey invites applications for two, three-year (with possible extension), full-time positions as Research Station Assistants to begin as soon as possible. These positions, based at the University of Arkansas-Monticello (Monticello AR) and at Henderson State University (Arkadelphia AR), offer the opportunity to acquire skills and knowledge in all aspects of archeology. Thesis or dissertations opportunities are also available.
Description: Duties include fieldwork (requiring in-state travel), data analysis, collections processing, record keeping, and interaction with visitors and callers to the Station, all under the direction of the Research Station Archeologist.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in anthropology or a related field is required. Field experience in Eastern North America, experience in working with archeological collections and data, and knowledge of computers is required, as is the ability to work independently and meet internal deadlines.
Salary: $24,000 with full benefits.
Starting Date: July 31, 2014
