Did not think to check the concentration with a hydrometer, new batch this
year, but the same I used in the Spring with no problems, though I used a
lower amount because most were singles or story and a half hives at the
time.  I purchased 95% formic so my thought is the concentration probably
wasn't higher than 50% as it's unlikely they could get the concentration
above 95%.  I'll have to get another hydrometer I guess since I don't think
my wife wants me dropping the beer hydrometer into some formic.

I had a substantial amount of dead bees out front, definitely in the
hundreds in front of several of the hives (varied between hives), hoping to
check tomorrow to make sure the queens are still laying etc. (rain today)
 I probably should have waited or used a lower dose is my thinking since we
still have a flow going on here, especially with all the rain we have been
getting lately.

Do you follow the same guidelines as outlined in the paper 85ml for a
single, 100ml for a double?  I'm thinking I might scale it back for the
next round, I guess I'll just have to see how the counts are end of July
beginning of August.  Still on the learning curve here I guess, but thus
far I might prefer it so a lot of the hard chemicals out there.
