Very true.  But I was quoting Abbé Warré verbatim, without editorializing.

Just as soon as I escape the last of the seemingly endless Christmas fairs
at which we sell the bulk of the harvest from our modest 2 dozen hives.
Until then, the eggnog is all that keeps my face from freezing into a
permanent rictus of Christmas cheeriness.  Booze is a muscle relaxant,
dontcha know.  :)
