In the U.S. the beekeeper is allowed to use less than label but not a higher amount than label.
Example:
Three 25 gram treatments of Apiguard instead of two 50 gram treatments
Or
2 or even one chemical strip per hive .
My opinion:
If one is simply trying to knock down mites (NOT trying to get a 95/98% kill and using different kinds of treatments the whole resistant mite scenario is not as important.
Canada is different than areas like Randy when brood rearing can happen year around.
All beekeeping is local .
