I think it is important to put some comments into perspective regarding the UK.
Trade to and from the UK is regulated by the Balai agreement/directive
and EU trade agreements. Honey bees are part of this directive.
There is a body of beekeepers in the UK that are anti-import and will
use any reason they can to support their agenda. A ban on imports
from SHB free areas is never going to happen, but they use the SHB
issue as a scaremongering tactic.
Imports from SHB locations and for 100kms around them are not allowed
and no vet, unless he/she wanted to be dismissed, would sign a TRACES
Certificate for bees from a designated zone.
