I wrote: "I don't usually need to use the liquid smoke anywhere near 
any open stores."

Peter responded: "But if you only use it over brood combs then it must 
get into open cells -
and honey is often stored there before being moved up into the supers."

Generally (more often than not) a whiff at the entrance is all that's 
needed. Sometimes, I might mist over the top bars of a box, but have 
never directed the spray at combs.
