Hello Lionel,
Plenty of information on the systemics in the archives .
If you visit a Walmart go to the garden department and read the label of a product (several on sale) with the neonics.
you will get a better idea of the vast number of insects effected.
Beekeepers have always had problems with pesticides.
The three big issues concening bees:
1. length in soil with systemics and documented yearly buildup.
2. labels which allow sprays of fungicides (with surfactants) while bees are working blooms. (recent bee kill told by Joe Traynor in almonds 2014)
3. Levels in honey & pollen plants in fields, around fields, golf courses and yards.
4. problems with application at corn planting
Despite those on BEE-L which say there are not problems in beekeeping today other than what has been throughout history many beekeepers disagree.
PPB ( piss poor beekeeping) explains all problems is mainly put out by those not wanting to take a close look at the issue in my opinion.
The issue is far from settled. Could take decades to get label changes designed to protect bees.
What would be the actual hive figure effected in almonds this year ? 20% is speaking softly on the subject.
20% = tens of thousands of hives???????
