Dennis, those spore counts would be typical of colonies experiencing a
severe N ceranae infection. Any dysentery would have helped to spread the
spores to other bees. If you still have some of the bees, you can squash
one at a time to see the percentage infected.
I have not yet tested bleach solution sprayed on combs, but I strongly
suspect that it would kill the spores. But we routinely restock bees onto
our N ceranae-killed deadouts with no treatment other than scraping off
dysentery from the top bars. I am not recommending this--it's just what we
do with no apparent problems.
