Dr Pettis already suggested rotation of miticides in 2004 (see the article
in apidology). Does anybody have experience in such a rotation program.
Checkmite when approved resistance to Fluvalinate was already developed. There was no rotation available. We have to switch to use of coumaphos (checkmite) right away. As we stopped using apistan ( fluvalinate) for almost 10 years, reversal of resistance has been occurring. In 2002 when fluvalinate resistance was reported, efficacy was less than 20%. Last fall tested mites showed fluvalinate efficacy has become around 80% กำ 10%. So it is work in progress.
For coumaphos is not the same no reported reversal in our testing.
