Hello,
If I understand this link here, honeybees do not
navigate by the sun, but by the band of polarized
light occurring at 90 degrees to the sun.

I was wondering if anyone can expand on this,
particularity if navigation would be affected
at mid day at the equator, with the band of
polarized light occurring at the horizon.
How is this band of light created? Can volcanic
ash or solar storm disrupt this band of light?
Best Regards,
J. Waggle
