Watched it too. The most balanced presentation on the whole issue of
pollinator problems I have seen as it covers a lot of ground.
But more than that, she has specific programs to help pollinators. If a few
of her programs were initiated in each state, then we all would be better
off. Most of what she is doing requires cooperation, not confrontation or
regulation.
I especially like her program of having a company or organization
"sponsor" a hive on their property. The hive is kept up by a parent
organization of beekeepers, so the company has no issue with labor, but
they do get a sense of proprietorship and look out for the hive. Her
example was where one was going to spray and was told that, at that time,
it would not be good for the hive, so they became educated on spraying and
protecting their hive. They also looked at bee friendly plants. A win-win
for bees and the company. Nice to see someone who is doing research and
doing something practical with it. She is a winner.
