Charles, Your observations and comments are intriguing and certainly
run counter to how I understand the community at large perceives the
problem of changes in landscape. From the language in talks and
documents, there certainly is the perception out there that Roundup-
ready technology has vastly changed the forage situation for
pollinators (managed and native), and in a negative way. This is the
general view in the ivory towers of academia, the palaces of policy
and regulation, the halls of congress, the offices of advocacy groups,
and the living rooms of the average television watching citizen.
Perhaps a reevaluation and a "ground-check" is in order? Walking the
fields rather than driving along the highways and looking at edges
(which is what I do)? I wonder whether weed scientists may have some
information that supports your views?
