I saw a recent paper on this issue and, in essence, it says that many
studies are only taking a small outer edge of the probability bell shaped
curve and calling it significant, something not done in earlier years.
This allows a lot of really bad papers to say they are "significant" when
they are far from it.
Does sound familiar.
