The Missouri State Beekeepers wrapped up their Fall
Conference at the Lodge of the Four Seasons, which I would NOT recommend for a
conference.  Food stinks.  The service was worse.  Prices were high.  The scenery was beautiful, however.
We greatly enjoyed our three headline speakers which I
highly recommend.  They are a breath of
fresh air.  They can be contacted on http://honeybeespeak.com/speakers/
GREG HANNAFORD  (“BeeKonomics
101: How to Make $500 per Hive,” “Making the Jump...from Hobby to Sideline to
Fulltime,” and “The Truth About Treatment Free Beekeeping”) was outstanding.
BLAKE SHOOK (“Nutrition: How it Affects Your Bees,” “Products
of the Hive,” and “From 1 to 1,400 Hives in a Few Years”) was fantastic.
PHIL CRAFT (“How to Indentify Common Queen Problems in
Beekeeping,” and “Varroa Mites: Biology and Control”) was absolutely top
drawer.
We now turn to our Spring Conference held March 21/22, 2014
and we are looking for speakers.  We are
not necessarily looking for the same old material presented in the same old way
by the same old speakers, but something new, something a little innovative,
something that expands our horizons and challenges our assumptions in order to meet
a widely diverse group of participants from beginners to seasoned veterans,
from hobbyists to fulltime beekeepers.
If you know of someone you’ve heard and enjoyed, please
contact me or send me a message.   Don’t
be bashful and feel you cannot toot your own horn.  We’re hoping for another wonderful
experience.
