I beg to differ. It is a grave error to apply conventional ideas about breeding pets or even livestock to the much different issue of honey bee health, and how it relates to populations, genetics, and environment.
This is simply a fruitless line of inquiry. You have to look at real world populations of bees, migratory patterns, disease and chemical assaults to get a grip on what is happening, let alone what to do about it.
