I am about to start alcohol washes to determine treatments for late summer
mite control. I save the bees and alcohol from each yard in a bucket and
then take a composite sample for Nosema. What is the current thinking on
late summer/early fall Nosema treatments? I live in an area with abundant
pollen and adequate nectar (or I feed) so nutrition is not a problem, but I
keep getting hammered with Nosema. I have abandoned 2 yards that have been
hit hard the last 2 winters thinking they were cold and damp, so we shall
see what that does for survival. Thoughts from the list? What is the
current recommendation for Alberta?
thanks,
