When I was a boy seventy-odd years ago our little farm dairy was shut out of
the business of supplying milk to the local grocery stores and residents
because it was "raw" milk. Dad couldn't afford to pasteurize, so we went to
selling in bulk to the creamery in Baton Rouge which took over our previous
local business. Progress, I suppose. It pushed me into the wartime navy,
since I didn't have to deliver milk any more. The invisible hand of
economics.
