Stan, that Purdue site talks about the planter exhaust dust issue
which we've already discussed at length. Planter dust is a once a
year potential bee exposure problem during dry and windy conditions
and is largely mitigable: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4VKaaq70Yc
Purdue's site does not provide real world field evidence that the tiny
amounts of clothianidin buried in the soil every year at corn planting
time end up causing serious landscape scale honey bee health problems
via exposure to corn pollen or guttation water. Or cause landscape
scale health and abundance problems for beneficial soil insects such
as earthworms.
