In my experience, you won't see any profit so long as you are expanding
your operation. Best to run another profitable business or two on the
side, and use the bee business loss against your self employment income
from the other biz. If you are legitimately building the bee business, you
can lose money every year for as many years as you are building.
The year that you decide to stop expanding will be the one in which you
will finally see a profit, at which point you can quit your other jobs and
fully enjoy our favorite occupation.
