Depends upon how hard your selection pressure is. We have a zero tolerance
policy. Do only a few years.

Charlie, it is important in this discussion to distinguish between escaped
swarms and truly established feral populations. I believe that you stated
before that there were no ferals in your area, perhaps due to lack of
suitable nesting cavities in which a locally-adapted population could
maintain a breeding population?
If so, then your cutouts would likely be escaped swarms, and hence gentle.
