All I want to add to this debate is that in no way does the document Bil is referring to represent the majority of beekeepers in Europe. There is absolutely no support from any mainstream beekeeping organisation in the country I'm writing this from, for example. I mean the UK, not just Scotland.
Rather than celebrate the achievements of the campaigners, most beekeepers here just regard this way of thinking (and the European Court of Justice that supported it) as ... well .... plain wrong and just using beekeeping rather than supporting it.
