If you winter equipment in storage sheds, what would happen if, after deep cold temperatures are reached outside, you were to have extensive use of fans and heat source, heat up the inside of the storage sheds to maybe 40º (5ºC) for a day or two to make sure all equipment is that temperature and then turn off the heat but leave the fans on and open up the sheds to the bitter cold? Would that possibly kill the wax moth larvae? Would several cycles of this rapid and extreme temperature change do the job? Might be a good project for some masters degree student.
