When I rented my bees to a watermelon patch, I charged $50 a hive for 8 hives.  The patch was within 15 miles of my yard so I didn't charge transportation costs.  This was in 2012.

BTW, so far it's been a very poor honey production season here 1/2 way between Montgomery and Mobile.  I've heard its' poor all over this neck of the country.
