I have no idea how to answer the question, so here's a poem I once wrote about it...

To be read in a broad Lancashire accent, sounding like this:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/barnicle/stanley/sounds/albert%20and%20the%20lion.mp3

Albert and The Clock

Young Albert watched t' clock in 'is office,
With wondrous ideas in 'is 'ead.
The boss didn't rate 'im that clever.
"'E's a rum 'un, our Albert", 'e said.

Now Albert 'ad 'eard of old Newton
And 'is apple that fell on t' ground.
But t' office, and Newton, were boring:
'E reckoned 'e could do better all round.

Even though t' office wall-clock weren't moving,
Young Albert thought, "What if it were?"
So 'e sharpened 'is pencil right careful
And regarded that clock with a stare.

"Hey! Get back to work there, young Albert!"
Cried the boss, "Don't gaze into space!"
So Albert put pencil to paper,
All innocent-like was 'is face.

But Albert weren't workin' on Patents:
'E were scribblin' sums hard and long.
And as time ticked away in that office,
Our Albert found Newton was wrong.

Well, this were a fine situation.
Thought Albert, "Now what's to do?"
For tellin' 'is boss weren't an option:
Of spacetime 'e 'adn't a clue.

"So I'll publish a paper", thought Albert.
"Tell you what, what the 'eck, let's write fower."
So 'e did, and newspaper reporters
Started forming long queues outside t' door.

Then, next thing 'e knew, 'e were famous.
Ee, Albert's mum were right glad.
'Er neighbours saw pictures in t' paper.
"Ay-up", they said, "'ere's "Pauline's lad!"

T' university wanted our Albert.
They offered him quite a few bob.
So Albert became a professor
And told t' boss where to stuff 'is old job.

Awaken curiosity and they feed their own minds for a lifetime.
