Hi all,
I am analysing material from the Cobos sugar plantation and cattle operation, which dates 1878-1904 or so, on San Cristóbal (formerly Chatham) Island in the Galapagos.
I have been getting a number of ferrous objects, all identical in size and shape, that I cannot identify. Definitely bothering me - maybe best described as a type of hook. Here is a link to a photo. Looks to me like this is a complete object, not snapped off anywhere - an old type of fencing staple? Something to hold wooden containers together? Something to do with the little Decauville railway he had running on the plantation?
