Re comb spacing, the Bee-L list could easily collect some data. Any time
that one of us inadvertently leaves out some frames, we often find that the
colony builds combs under the lids. It is a simple measure to scrape off
those combs, and then to measure the distance between them with a ruler.
My figure runs about 1 3/8" when bees are left to themselves to decide.
I'd be interested in hearing what others find.
