Juanse, bees have a special structure that surrounds their food within the ventriculus called the "peritrophic matrix".  There is also a "peritrophic membrane", but here I am uncertain whether the two are distinct from each other or whether they are different names for the same thing.

You can find it online so now that you have the name you can research it yourself.
