Breast milk contains an impressive list of "additives." So far we have proteins that nourish particular types of beneficial gut flora, maternal antibodies that protect vulnerable infants, all the energy and sustenance an infant needs, and now proteins that modify bacterial resistance to antibiotics. Can naturally occurring antibiotics be far behind? Or maybe it's just a fluke of nature--not too likely.
