The Coalition for Science After School is a strategic alliance of individuals and organizations from STEM education, youth development and programs held outside of school time. The Coalition's mission is to coordinate and mobilize community stakeholders to strengthen and expand opportunities that engage young people in science after school.
The Coalition, in partnership with Time Warner Cable's Connect a Million Minds Initiative, is preparing to update the Connectory/National After School Science Directory. With thousands of opportunities listed, the Coalition for Science After School's Directory and Time Warner Cable's Connectory combine as a free and easy-to-use tool for organizations that lets parents and students in your community know about your STEM programs and events. In 2010 there were over 120,000 visits to the Connectory (www.connectamillionminds.com/connectory.php<http://www.connectamillionminds.com/connectory.php>) through the CAMM website and nearly 12,000 through the Coalition's portal (www.afterschoolscience.org/directory<http://www.afterschoolscience.org/directory>). It is also a great way to connect with other programs, advocates, policy makers and funders in your area.
To enter your programs into the directory please go to www.afterschoolscience.org/directory<http://www.afterschoolscience.org/directory> and click on the green "Join the Directory" button. Registration only takes a few minutes, after which organizations are free to share as many opportunities as they wish. Entries will appear on both the Connectory and Coalition websites. We encourage you to enter or update your STEM programs and events by May 15, 2011.
If you have technical questions about joining, please email the team at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> . If your organization has a large number of opportunities to include, contact Mike Radke ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) to arrange a mass upload.
