Dear Histarchers, I am running an archaeological field school in Chicago from July 9-August 2 through Lake Forest College, and we welcome undergraduates from other institutions. The site, located on the northwest side of Chicago, belonged to Chicago’s first Republican sheriff, John Gray, an abolitionist who purportedly used this house as a station on the Underground Railroad.
