<Why is not plywood ever used to make up bottom boards?>


<shrug> I've used it for a few years without any problem, but the siderails
were out of solid wood so not much exposed grain to absorb water.  All were
either painted or wax dipped also.  Same for tops, the wax dipped ones held
up great for a season before I even got the metal caps on them.
