Just anecdotal observations on my part, but the hives which are in trouble
(and/or have died) seem to be the ones which do not generate much propolis,
whether it be to sanitize and disinfect or to merely cordon off and contain
Small Hive Beetle or an unlucky field mouse.
Cause and effect??? Seems a good cause for the question? Are hives weak
because of lack of propolis, or is it just that healthy hives have the
ability to create more???
Either way propolis is a good thing. Check prices, if your willing to work
at it propilis is as valuable as wax.
