If a mite is detected a trap door is activated and the bee  
goes into the "powder (sugar) room". Shake and  repeat.

Might as well add the bee  version of a car wash to remove sugar and mites, 
then let the bee return to its  hive.  Perhaps with an antiseptic mist 
instead of hot wax, followed by blow  dry.
