Dear HISTARCH,
Many members of this list will be interested in this concept design/EA document for Pullman National Monument in Chicago, IL. The history of the Pullman company is highlighted in the report, but was the center of manufacture for Pullman Palace Rail Cars. The community of Pullman was among the United States most significant planned industrial communities, a site of key labor action by the American Railway Union, and the corporate headquarters managing the company’s conflict with the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters (The Pullman Porters). This site is of extraordinary significance.
Best regards,
Tim Scarlett

The United States National Park Service has released the draft Pullman Factory Site Conceptual Design Environmental Assessment (EA) and is seeking public comment.
"The EA will clarify goals and objectives for the Factory Site at Pullman National Monument and establish a larger vision for the National Park Service and other interested parties. The planning document examines conceptual designs for improvements, rehabilitation, and use of the Factory Site, including the Clock Tower Administration Building that will become the park’s visitor center.”
The public comment period is open through March 6, 2017. The easiest way to view and comment on the document is online at https://parkplanning.nps.gov/PullmanConcept <https://parkplanning.nps.gov/PullmanConcept>
