Re former Cemetery memorials:
In Ventura, CA, an historical cemetery once used to inter Native
Americans, Civil War veterans, Chinese, and others is presently used as a dog park
- to the consternation of some descendants. Some, but not all, of the
burials have been removed. There is a standing stone memorial attesting its
former use.
In Los Angeles, the Evergreen Cemetery has a massive shrine dedicated in
2010 as a memorial to the many Chinese buried there. It has replicas of
two of the traditional burners flanking a central monument.
