*Free family day of history and archaeology events*
O2 Academy, University of Leicester, University Road, Leicester LE1 7RH
Saturday 12 January 2013
12.00 - 5.00pm
Join archaeologists and historians from the University of Leicester and elsewhere for a family day of free public events on Saturday 12 January 2013. There will be talks by well-known archaeologists from series such as Time Team, historical re-enactments, exhibits, a chance to find out about local and national organisations, the latest news about the University's search for Richard III - and you can even bring your own archaeological finds along to learn more about them. All events are completely free and the day is suitable for even the youngest historian or archaeologist.
Further information about the exhibitors, lectures, and travel arrangements can be found at: http://www2.le.ac.uk/departments/archaeology/pastbeneath/pastbeneath and the Facebook event page: http://www.facebook.com/events/403052999760928/
The event forms part of the Society for Historical Archaeology's annual conference, on the theme of 'Globalization, Immigration, Transformation', which is being held at the University of Leicester on 9th - 12 January 2013. Online registration for the conference has now closed, but you can still register and pay in person - find out more about the conference here: http://www.sha.org/meetings/annual_meetings.cfm
