In my own trials, I like to normalize starting mite counts for each colony
to 100%, and then compare the effects of treatment against that. The
counts for the control group generally go up (usu. roughly doubling each
month of broodrearing), whereas those following effective treatment go down
below the original 100%, eventually climbing again.
