I trap a lot of pollen. I have found that small hive beetle seem to be attracted to the pollen, which I freeze and sift. If I harvest every other day I see no beetles. On the third day I start seeing adult beetles and by day seven larvae to the point of massive infestation. Not in the hive but in the pollen tray. I am running Sundance style bottom traps.
Has anyone done any studies on using pollen and remote traps away from hives?
