Re AFB spores:
The mere presence of a few spores will not cause a colony to break down, this is certain. There has to be a very large influx of honey or contaminated brood. As in: A) bees robbing a sick colony, B) beekeeper distributing diseased combs. These are the main ways disease is spread, not spores on the ground or embedded in wax
