Why didn't the source colony die at the level that the research colonies
are dying?
Exactly, for some reason the source colony tolerates the high levels of
Nosema. Inoculating other colonies with Nosema spores from this colony
almost always kills the test colonies. We've used macerated bees with spores,
macerated bee guts with spores, and centrifuged separations of spores from
bee parts - ALL kill the test colonies.
Just shows how little we know. Reason we are testing.
