ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.
*****************************************************************************

The Franklin Institute, in partnership with the Center for Nanoscale Science at Penn State University and AT&T, and through funding from the National Science Foundation, is offering a free floor program to interested museums that will be selected to participate upon review of application. Complete information about the program and application process can be found at
http://www.mrsec.psu.edu/education/museum_shows/pocket_tech/.

The program includes 6 interactive, visitor-tested demonstrations with a focus on the technology of smartphones and other personal electronic devices. The demonstrations are tabletop scale and designed for facilitated interactions with small groups of visitors.

Demonstrations include:
* Computer Speak
* Computer Logic
* Touch Screens
* Screen Orientation
* Color Displays
* Signal Transmission

A representative from each selected museum will also attend a one-day training session at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, PA in October 2013, with all reasonable expenses covered by the program. Participants will receive all supplies and technical support at no cost to deliver the program for one year.

Once all applications are received, the members of the partnership will review the applications and choose approximately 15 museums to receive the program.

The application deadline is FRIDAY, AUGUST 30, 2013.
