The problem is that beetle are attracted to hives. You are just
providing pollen in a hive and protecting the beetle from the bees.

Also remember it takes about a day for the eggs to hatch. A beetle lays
a zillion. So as soon as bees cannot or will not look after a hive,
explosion of numbers of larvae results.
