I
think swarming is starting to happen here in Maine. I got a call yesterday
from someone who took a swarm from another beekeepers yard, who did not
want it, and also went through that beekeepers hive finding multiple swarm
cells.
I have lost track of how many days it has rained, it seems like two weeks
but is more like one. The dandelions have gone by with out much of a chance
for the bees to work them, the apples are blooming and hopefully through
those rare non rainy times the bees did get out to pollinate the trees, I
was told the blueberry growers are worried about how confined the bees have
been. It looks like the rain will stop Monday and I am hoping I am not
chasing my own bees through the trees when it happens.
I will be happy to stop feeding!
