Maybe the unstated point was that you shouldn't feed honey from
elsewhere as it might contain AFB spores. The UK bee inspectorate
report that AFB outbreaks are sometimes linked with places where
imported honey is used and bees can gain access to carelessly placed
empty containers. Generally the incidence of AFB in the UK is less
than 1%.
