I have been helping a Monroe, Michigan, resident who has an archaeological site in the basement of his home. The location of the home was a horse stable in 1905 and a house in 1908. The house was remodeled in the 1960s.
The artifacts of material culture being excavated is a domestic assemblage of predominatly ceramics and glass tablewares dating between 1890 and 1954. However, there is some metal object (mostly iron), coal, and what appears to be large, sulphur fragments or concretions distinctly yellow in color.
I am wondering if anyone can identify the paper label printing on the whiskey bottle (pint) shown at:
https://www.academia.edu/12149855/Whiskey_Bottle
The label in part reads "8 fluid ounces" "blended whiskey" and "on & Bros". It might be a vintage Kentucky blended whiskey.
