The Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority (PAHSMA) is conducting excavations as part of an upcoming conservation project for the Penitentiary at Port Arthur Historic Site, Tasmania. The Penitentiary is one of the best known heritage buildings in Australia. These investigations will be part of an innovative project to stabilize the building, and ensure its future conservation.
We are looking for people with excavation experience to volunteer as part of the excavation crew. The excavations will run for approximately eight weeks during March and April 2013. The dates will be confirmed early in 2013. This is a great opportunity to work on a World Heritage site with exciting research implications.
Additional information including application form can be downloaded from https://www.dropbox.com/sh/po5q741gsb8u2w6/MgGxzD1v1n
Applications should be submitted by 15 January 2013.
